The Cordeshof is an event venue with grounds in Berlin-Grunewald, where concerts, open-air cinema, markets and festivals take place in the garden and in the hall. A public beer garden will follow from 2027.
The Grunewald has grand villas, an expansive forest and a lake. What it lacked until now was a place you can simply go to: to drink a beer beneath the trees, hear a concert on the meadow, stroll through a market on a Sunday or watch a film under the open sky after dark. The Cordeshof is just a few minutes' walk from Messe Süd S-Bahn station and offers enough room for market stalls or a stage complete with audience. And should it rain, everything simply moves into the hall.
We are opening the place step by step. It begins with events we put on together with partners, from concert series and markets to film nights and club parties. In 2027 the beer garden follows, open seasonally, with a fire pit, a barbecue and its own garden bar inviting you to linger. What the grounds have room for.
- Concerts and festivalsFor a large audience, the stage is built on the meadow, while the artists find their backstage area in the hall and the food trucks line up along the edge of the grounds. Smaller concerts take place indoors, where the house stage is already waiting.
- Open-air cinema and screeningsAs soon as it gets dark, the screen goes up in the garden for cinema under the open sky. In the hall, a film can be shown all year round, with theatre-style seating and a bar where you can fetch a drink during the interval.
- MarketsWhether design market, flea market or weekly market: the stalls spread across the courtyard and the meadow, and each of them has its own power connection. Should it rain, the market simply moves into the hall.
- Funfairs and neighbourhood festivalsThe grounds are large enough for a beer tent, fairground rides and a stage all at once. Setting up is straightforward too, as the lorries can drive right onto the field.
- Readings, talks, exhibitionsOn the gallery, an intimate atmosphere emerges for readings and conversations in a small circle, while the hall offers room for larger formats. Pictures and exhibits show to particular advantage against the old brick wall.
- Sport and clubsClubs hold their summer party here or stage a tournament on the meadow. The prize-giving then takes place in the hall, and the evening winds down together at the barbecue.
The beer garden, from 2027.
The beer garden lies beneath the old trees on the grounds, with a view of the brick hall. We are deliberately keeping it small so that it remains a cosy place, where a fire pit, a barbecue and its own garden bar await you.
- Fire pit and barbecue
- In the middle of the garden there is a permanent fire pit, the barbecue stands right beside it, and all around, benches invite you to stay a while. In summer you sit here until dusk, and in autumn blankets are at hand so that cooler evenings stay cosy too.
- Garden bar in a container
- The bar serves draught beer, wine, lemonade and coffee. We deliberately do without frills; instead, every drink is well chilled and chosen with care.
- Seasonal, with a programme
- On Sundays there is a market, on Thursdays a film is shown, and once a month there is a concert. The beer garden itself is the reason you like coming back, and the programme is the reason you tell others about it.

When does the beer garden at the Cordeshof open?
The public beer garden is planned for 2027, with fire pit, barbecue and garden bar. Until then, the garden hosts private and cultural events – concerts, markets, summer parties. If you would like to be told when it opens, sign up below.
Can I hire the Cordeshof for a concert or festival?
Yes. The garden suits open-air stages and larger audience formats, the hall smaller formats with its own stage, sound and lighting. For public events we take care of permits, safety and the neighbours together with you – that is part of what we offer.
Are there quiet hours?
Outdoors, night-time quiet applies from 10 pm, after which the programme continues in the hall. For concerts in the garden we plan for a late-afternoon start, and we schedule soundchecks so that the neighbours go on liking us.
What can be held on the grounds?
Concerts, open-air cinema and screenings, design markets and flea markets, food truck festivals, funfairs with rides, readings, exhibitions, sports events. The Cordeshof has power and water at the edge of the garden, room for marquees and access for lorry deliveries.
How do I get to the Cordeshof?
By S-Bahn to Messe Süd and a few minutes on foot, by bike through the Grunewald, by car via the A115 – there is parking on the grounds. From City West it is only a few minutes.
